The theme that Ps Tara declared for 2020 , Daughter With a voice, has been a supernatural declaration, given the natural circumstances of 2020. The use of a mask during Covid blocking out the voice. This theme deeply resonated with me.
In the Bible we have many examples of women having the most profound effect on the gospel, Mary Magdalene, Ruth, Esther to name a few.
But the one I will unfold is the story of Esther. Esther becomes queen not because of her looks, or what she had in the natural, as there were other beautiful women that were preparing to become queen for the King, but Esther had favour. The favour of God, that when the King saw her, he chose her to become queen.
Esther could have been put to death to appear unsummoned before the King. But when she hears of the plight of her people, the Jewish people, this was her response:
16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
Esther fasted and waited upon the Lord before appearing in front of the King without his permission, and she found favour in the sight of the King.
3 And the king said to her, “What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you—up to half the kingdom!”
This resulted in the Jewish people being saved, being given a chance to fight instead of death.
Esther could have chosen to stay silent (keep the mask on in these days), she could have chosen the comfort of being the queen, but instead she risked being put to death by appearing in the court. She chose to unveil and appear before the King in his court to save her people. Over 2000 years later we are still reading about Esther in the Bible and the feast of Purim still celebrated by her people. Esther ended up being queen not only for that time but God’s favour upon her is still being celebrated today.
Like the theme of Gracious, Daughter With a Voice, what do you choose? To unmask your voice and declare the gospel, declare your identity in the finished work of Christ to others, especially women?
Be like Esther today, choose the path of God, be prompted by the Holy Spirit and find favour in all you do, precious Daughter With the Voice of the Most High God.
I pray an Esther anointing over every woman that has read this.
